Blair Foam
Naming the company after his late father, Jeff Stoner, established shaper, renowned waterman and the youngest son of legend shaper and waterman, Rick Blair Stoner of Rick Surfboards, has partnered with childhood friend and established urethane industry specialist, Beau Brown, to form the surfboard blank manufacturing company, Blair Foam.
Based out of Gardena, CA, Blair Foam combines a cutting edge urethane formula with deep industry knowledge both in surfboard manufacturing and urethane chemistry. Blair Foam is not only dedicated to providing quality, consistent and uniformly dense foam to all its customers, but through its 2008 acquisition of Green Valley Mill, is also committed to providing superior customized rocker and wood stringer glue-up services with the industry’s largest selection and highest grade wood on the market, not limited to bass, cedar, spruce, balsa, and unidirectional poplar.
The Foam
Blair Foam has taken the age-old industry standard for polyurethane foam to an entirely new level with its proven high-caliber polyether/polyester blend. A proven TDI-based formula, Blair Foam is both uniformly dense and easy to plane with minimal to no tearing.
Offering various foam densities as part of their product line, the tight cell structure of the foam can significantly minimize resin absorption while maintaining a sufficient open cell structure proven to improve the mechanical bond between foam and fiberglass thus minimizing delamination. Blair Foam blanks were designed to accommodate both machine-milling and hand-shaping.
Offering a wide variety of sizes, Blair Foam molds were custom built by a team of industry engineers and reputable shapers.
